About Ethan Cramer

Ethan Cramer is a stay-at-home parent and author. His vision of theoretical horticulture has developed over a twenty-year career in public and private horticulture, the arts, and community organizing.

In addition to Garden Thought, he is at work on a novel for young adults and a number of songs for children.

He is an activist for neighborhoods, and he founded and ran a community organizing non-profit in Wilmington, Delaware. He held a variety of positions at two notable public gardens in the Delaware Valley, Chanticleer and the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College, and he worked in the community greening programs at the Delaware Center for Horticulture. He worked for many years for one of the highest-quality landscaping firms in the Delaware Valley, Fine Garden Creations. Formative mentors include Andrew Bunting and Melissa Grubb Lafferty.

He is an active supporter of the Mexican-American community he lives in, and an advocate for interracial adoption.

Ethan lives in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Michele, and their two-year-old son, Elias.
